In New Plymouth, few professional fishers are left. One of the fishermen I talked to told me that it's very hard to make a living. Himself, he turned his boat into a tourist charter.
Probably one of the reasons that this local fishery closed its doors a decade ago. Completely dismantled, the fishery justs sits there, waiting to be torn down.
