Oil plant - photographs

The south west coast of the North Island [NZ] is dominated by the presence of several oil rigs and energy plants. This oil plant [Shell/Todd] is one of them. In contrast with the Maori believe of treating natural resources respectfully, oil companies drill deep into the sea bottom to bring this black sticky resource to the surface.

The second photo is made of the model which you can see in the visitor center of the plant. [These are just digital snapshots; as soon as I have scanned the Medium format slides, I'll upload them.]
