Riga was the 'home-base' of the tour. Before we went to any other city in the Baltics, we always passed through Riga. Also, a big part of the work which was organized by us, took place in this city with the RIXC as steady new-media center functioning as a social- and workspace.
Before Arts and Communications took place, a performance was given by us in Klubs Depot. Most of our time in Riga went into preparing the festival; several panels had to be moderated, a performance was given and some other artist-presentation had to be prepared as well.
In the week after the festival we organized a special visiblesound evening, which existed in the Montevideo-screening and a sound-performance by sound- and media artist Paulo Raposo [PT], who is also owner of the label SIRR-ECORDS.

The screening was very successfull. We never had so many visitors in our presentation as during the screening in Riga. No more chairs were available, so people had to sit on the floor instead. A rather young audience, existing of a lot of Art-students from the local art-academy. RIXC told us that most of them were also there when Bart Rutten from Montevideo visited Riga in the spring of this year, showing other video works from the archive. Some questions were asked, but as during most of the official presentations with a lecturer up-front facing the audience, the audience was rather quiet. See more pictures --> click here
